Our Promise

Our Social Promise represents our commitment to creating a working environment where all employees can realise their potential.

How We Keep Our Social Promise

Real Representation

If you can see it, you can be it. Our workforce should represent the rich diversity of our clients and customers, as well as society as a whole. We all see the world through a different lens, and that range of perspectives is what makes us stronger.

Paths to Progression

Everyone in our business should have an equal opportunity to progress in their career. Our role in the food services sector, one of the UK’s most far-reaching industries, places us in a unique position to support people’s progression, no matter where they start.

In our organisation, everyone has a clear development pathway to help them grow, whether that means advancing through the ranks or finding the area of the industry they enjoy most.

Opportunity for All

By working with partners like the DWP, Springboard, Movement to Work and Care Leaver Covenant, we actively aim to provide stable work for people in hard-to-reach groups across society and remove barriers to employment.

Engaging Young People

Nutrition plays an essential role in young people’s lives. Through our education business, we engage with teachers and school children to share the benefits of nutrition and help them build lifelong culinary skills.

Securing Fair Pay

We’re proud to be accredited by the Living Wage Foundation and already pay all our direct employees the Real Living Wage (RLW). We also continue to advocate for the RLW across the country, encouraging clients and suppliers to get accredited.

In the last two years, we’ve worked with over 300 clients to get more than 28,000 of their employees onto the RLW – and we’re committed to tracking that progress moving forward.

We also publish clear annual reports on the gender and ethnicity pay gaps, including details on the actions we’re taking to close that gap year on year.
