General Manager
Location: RAF London
Salary: Up to £56,097 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, 5 out of 7 days per week

At the RAF Museum Hendon, you’ll run the catering, events and hospitality operation inside a world-class institution that draws visitors from across the globe, set among historic hangars and legendary aircraft.

You’ll be the face of the operation. You’ll lead the teams, shape the visitor experience and grow a business that’s busy every day, from a bustling café to a full conference and events diary. If you like a venue with real buzz, real history and real room to make your mark, this is it.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading from the front. You’ll be on the floor, setting the standard and bringing your team with you. You’ll train, coach and develop a skilled team of operators and culinary colleagues.
  • Growing the business. You’ll spot commercial opportunities and turn them into revenue across café, events and hospitality.
  • Running a tight ship. You’ll own labour planning, cost control and forecasting, and hit your financial targets while keeping health and safety and company standards spot on.
  • Wowing the client. You’ll build strong relationships with museum stakeholders, act on feedback quickly and keep exceeding expectations.
  • Shaping what’s next. You’ll work with the museum to deliver the venue’s growth strategy and make the operation smarter and more efficient.

What’s in it for you

  • A collaborative, inclusive culture where your ideas count and creativity is encouraged
  • 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)
  • Free meals while you’re at work, plus on-site F&B discounts
  • Compass Group perks and benefits, including Perks for Works discounts
  • Real development, with training and mentoring from the wider Restaurant Associates and Compass Group UK networks
  • Great food. Always.

Is this you?

  • You have 2+ years as a General Manager, or 4+ years as a Deputy GM or Operations Manager in hospitality. Visitor attractions or multi-outlet venues are a big plus.
  • You thrive in high-footfall, fast-paced places with different service styles running side by side.
  • You’re confident with budgets, cost control and labour management.
  • You lead by example and love seeing your people grow.
  • You communicate well with clients, stakeholders and your team.
  • You care about food, service and creating visits people remember.
