Job Title: Apprentice Chef - Grantham
Salary/Hourly Rate: 14.06 per hour
Location: Grantham, NG31 7TE 
Reporting to: Line Manager 
Hours/Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, rotating shifts 5 out of 7 days per week
Contractual Requirements: Candidates must be aged 18+ and willing to undergo a DBS check

We’re currently recruiting for an ambitious Apprentice Chef to join our team and help deliver exceptional experiences at Grantham on a full-time basis contracted to 35 hours per week.

As an apprentice Commis Chef you will work alongside a passionate and supportive team, gaining hands-on experience while developing your skills through structured training. On completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve the L2 Commis Chef qualification and become a qualified Commis Chef. 

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

• Preparing food promptly and to recipe specifications.
• Completing opening, closing and additional duties as instructed.
• Keeping workstations and cooking equipment clean, organised and sanitised.
• Maintaining correct food temperatures and storage procedures.
• Following all food safety standards and regulations.

Our Ideal Apprentice Will:

• Communicate confidently and follow instructions and recipes accurately.
• Have basic food preparation and cooking skills.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Be positive, reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
• Show initiative and take ownership of their development.
• Work well under pressure with strong attention to detail.
• Follow safe food-handling and hygiene practices.
• Prepare food efficiently while minimising waste.
• Be flexible to work evenings, weekends and varied shifts.
• Ideally have previous kitchen, catering, hospitality or customer service experience.
• Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.

Apprenticeship Funding Requirements
