Sous Chef - North Ferriby

Are you an experienced Sous Chef looking for your next challenge in a busy, high-volume B&I catering environment?

Eurest is looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a large and busy site in North Ferriby. This is a fast-paced operation where you’ll play a key role in supporting the Head Chef and leading the kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards every day.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of a large, high-volume kitchen.
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team during busy services.
• Deliver fresh, high-quality food to a consistently excellent standard.
• Support menu planning and contribute ideas to develop the food offer.
• Help manage food costs, stock, ordering and waste.
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Ensure the kitchen is organised, efficient and ready for service.
• Work closely with the wider catering team to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
• Step up and take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.

What we’re looking for

• Previous Sous Chef experience within a high-volume B&I environment is essential.
• Experience working within a large and busy catering operation.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
• Passion for fresh food, quality and presentation.
• Excellent organisation and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good understanding of food safety, HACCP and kitchen compliance.
• Commercial awareness, including food costs, stock and waste management.
• A flexible approach to working 5 days over 7.
• Own transport is preferred due to the location of the site.
