We’re looking for a reliable, welcoming and confident Night Porter to join the team at Yarnfield Park.

Working through the night, you’ll be responsible for helping to ensure the smooth running of the venue, keeping our guests safe and comfortable and making sure everything is ready for the team coming in the morning. You’ll be a key point of contact for our guests overnight, dealing with queries, requests and anything else that may arise.

As our Night Porter, you’ll represent Yarnfield Park throughout the night and play an important role in maintaining high standards of guest service, safety and hotel operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Oversee hotel and venue operations throughout the night, ensuring guests receive a safe, welcoming and positive experience.
• Act as a key point of contact for guests during the night, responding to questions, requests and any issues that arise.
• Conduct a briefing for colleagues working the night shift, ensuring everyone is aware of the night's activities and priorities.
• Communicate key information to the overnight team, including group and VIP arrivals, special requests and repeat guests.
• Welcome guests arriving during the night and assist with check-in and any accommodation requirements where required.
• Check guest accommodation and ensure special requests are followed through appropriately.
• Act as the manager on duty when required, dealing professionally with guest complaints, disturbances, problems and special requests.
• Assist guests with luggage where required and provide a warm, helpful and professional service throughout their stay.
• Complete the daily night audit accurately and within the required timescales.
• Ensure relevant hotel and venue procedures are followed throughout the night.
• Carry out regular checks of the venue to help maintain guest safety and security.
• Communicate any issues or incidents to the relevant management team and ensure appropriate action is taken.
• Support the wider Front Office team with operational tasks when required.
• Ensure the venue is ready for the morning team and guests, leaving clear and accurate handovers.
• Take ownership of the guest experience throughout the night and use your initiative to resolve issues wherever possible.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, enjoys meeting people and takes pride in delivering great hospitality.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience in hospitality, hotels, customer service or a similar guest-facing environment.
• Previous supervisory or management experience is desirable but not essential.
• A friendly, confident and professional approach to guest service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to remain calm and make sensible decisions when dealing with issues or unexpected situations.
• A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks accurately.
• The confidence to work independently and take ownership of the venue during the night.
• A reliable and committed approach to work.
• The ability to work nights and an understanding that this role will involve regular overnight shifts.
• A passion for creating a positive guest experience.
• A willingness to learn – full training will be provided.
