Position: Catering Assistant

Location: Swindon

Employment Type: Casual Contract with daytime shifts offered between Monday to Friday

Salary: £13.45

Constellation are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistants to join the catering team in various venues across Swindon

About the Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the smooth day-to-day running of the catering service. You will assist with food preparation, service, cleaning duties, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer service throughout the dining areas and kitchen facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, snacks, and beverages
• Set up and replenish food counters and dining areas
• Provide friendly and professional customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Support stock rotation and storage procedures
• Follow all food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations
• Assist the kitchen team during busy meal service periods
• Operate tills and handle payments where required
• Ensure dining areas remain clean, tidy, and welcoming

Essential Requirements

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards

Desirable Experience

• Previous catering, hospitality, or food service experience
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
