Kitchen Porter – School Catering

Looking for a flexible role in a friendly kitchen environment? Join our school catering team as a Kitchen Porter and play a vital role in keeping our kitchens clean, safe and running efficiently.

As a Kitchen Porter, you'll support the kitchen team by maintaining excellent hygiene standards, washing kitchen equipment, and assisting with general kitchen duties. Your work will help ensure pupils and staff receive high-quality meals in a clean and organised environment.

Shift Information

• Approximate shift times: 7:30am – 3:30pm or 12pm - 20:30pm
• Shifts available 7 days per week
• Flexible working to suit your availability but ideally available 4+ days per week

What You'll Be Doing

• Washing pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Operating commercial dishwashers
• Keeping kitchen and food preparation areas clean and tidy
• Assisting with deliveries and storing stock correctly
• Removing waste and recycling safely
• Supporting chefs and catering teams with basic food preparation when required
• Following food hygiene, health & safety and COSHH procedures at all times

• Previous kitchen porter or catering experience is essential

Skills & Qualifications

Some of these roles are based within educational settings and require an Enhanced DBS Check.
