Sous Chef | Manchester

Are you an experienced Sous Chef looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced contract catering environment? Do you enjoy leading a team, delivering great food, and maintaining high standards?

We're looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our busy staff dining operation in Manchester, serving up to 600 covers daily. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll support the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring fresh, high-quality meals are delivered consistently while maintaining excellent standards across food quality, safety, and service.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help drive kitchen performance, support team development, and ensure every service runs efficiently.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Leading the team during service and ensuring smooth food production.
• Preparing and delivering fresh, high-quality meals for up to 600 customers.
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene, allergen, and quality standards.
• Supporting stock control, ordering, waste reduction, and kitchen efficiency.
• Coaching and developing junior team members.
• Helping create a positive, organised, and professional kitchen environment.

About you

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie ready to progress.
• Experience working in a busy, high-volume kitchen environment.
• Strong culinary skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident leadership and communication skills.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergen standards.
• A positive, proactive approach with a passion for great food and teamwork.
