Assistant Catering ManagerRotherham General Hospital
£30,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week | Predominantly 11am – 7pm | including alternate weekends

We're looking for an experienced and people-focused Assistant Catering Manager to support the delivery of patient dining and retail catering services at Rotherham General Hospital.

Working closely with the Catering Manager, you'll lead and develop a team of supervisors and catering colleagues, ensuring high standards, excellent service, and a positive team culture. This is an ideal opportunity for someone ready to step up from a senior supervisory role or further develop their management career within a busy healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Catering Manager with the day-to-day running of patient dining and retail services.
• Line manage and develop a team of Catering Supervisors.
• Coach, train and motivate teams to deliver exceptional service.
• Assist with stock control, budgets, rotas and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety and company standards.
• Lead by example and support daily operations when needed.

About You

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within catering, hospitality or healthcare.
• Strong leadership, coaching and people development skills.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of operational efficiencies.
• City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2, NVQ equivalent or relevant catering qualification.
• Food Hygiene certification.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible approach to working, including alternate weekends.
