Assistant Restaurant Manager - Birchwood at The Conduit, London | Full-Time / Permanent
£39,600 + TRONC and excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, meals on duty, and more.
We're looking for a dedicated Assistant Restaurant Manager to play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of one of the restaurant floors at The Conduit - one of London’s leading private members’ clubs. In this exciting role you will be supporting the Restaurant Manager in delivering exceptional service, strong team performance and commercial results.
This is a hands-on role, leading from the floor, developing the team and ensuring a consistently high-quality experience for members and guests.
Birchwood at The Conduit, led by chef Will Devlin, is a brand-new cafe and wine bar that will bring a fresh, ingredient-led approach rooted in seasonality and sustainable sourcing. Expect bold, thoughtful dishes and a space designed for connection in the heart of Covent Garden.

Assistant Restaurant Manager - The role
- Lead floor service to deliver a seamless, engaging guest experience
- Build strong guest relationships, personalising service based on preferences
- Monitor standards and resolve issues proactively
- Act as a brand ambassador and uphold company values
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of team members
- Lead, motivate, and develop the team through coaching and feedback
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture with clear communication
- Oversee daily operations, including setup, service flow, and opening/closing procedures
- Coordinate across FOH, kitchen, and bar while maintaining high standards and compliance
- Drive operational performance, including efficiency, stock control, and continuous improvement
What we're looking for
- Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in a busy restaurant
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Passion for delivering excellent guest service
- Good understanding of restaurant operations and service flow
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confident, visible and hands-on leader
- Guest-focused with strong interpersonal skills
- Calm and solutions-focused under pressure
- Commercially aware
- Positive, proactive and team-oriented
