About the Role
Salary: £14 hours per hour
Contract: Part-time – 15 hours per week
Location: Lawson House Care Home

We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to support our kitchen operations at Lawson House Care Home, helping to deliver fresh, home-cooked meals that our residents love.

Support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs
Supervise food preparation and presentation to ensure high standards
Manage stock levels and assist with supplier coordination
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and full compliance with food safety standards
Build positive relationships with residents to understand their preferences and enhance their dining experience
✅ A skilled chef with experience in a similar role (e.g., Sous Chef, 2nd Chef, Cook Supervisor)
✅ Ability to lead and support a small team
✅ Excellent food hygiene knowledge and a valid Food Hygiene Certificate
✅ Great communication, time management, and organisational skills
✅ A caring, flexible approach to working in a care home setting
Our Ideal Sous Chef Will:
Be passionate about food and customer service
Hold a City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent
Have at least two years' experience in catering
Be confident supervising in a busy kitchen environment
Be motivated, reliable, and eager to grow professionally
