Shift Patterns:

• Monday to Friday: Early Shift 06:00–14:00 | Late Shift 10:00–18:00

• Weekend: 10:00–18:00

Meal Service Times:

• Weekdays: Breakfast 07:00–07:45 | Lunch 12:30–13:15 | Evening Meal 16:45–17:30

• Weekends: Brunch 10:00–12:30 | Evening Meal 16:45–17:30

ESS provides specialist catering and support services to the Defence, Government, and Energy sectors, where we take pride in delivering exceptional food and hospitality in unique and rewarding environments.

As a Chef with ESS at Beachley Barracks, you will:

• Prepare delicious, high-quality meals for up to 120 service personnel

• Identify opportunities to enhance and improve our food service

• Create a welcoming and supportive kitchen environment for your team

• Support the delivery of our innovative food concepts

• Represent ESS and Compass Group UK & Ireland with professionalism and positivity

• Assist with ordering, stock control, and responsible food waste management

• Oversee kitchen cleaning duties to maintain hygiene standards

• Support with budgets and help meet financial targets

• Ensure compliance with Food Handling, Hygiene, and Health & Safety regulations

Our ideal Chef will:

• Hold an NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2

• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

• Create a positive and supportive working environment

• Communicate effectively and build strong relationships

• Demonstrate ambition, initiative, and a passion for excellence

• Stay calm under pressure and make customer-focused decisions

• Show reliability, strong time management, and attention to detail
